Docklands Energises Melbourne

Melbourne Docklands is fast becoming one of Australia’s most progressive and energised urban domains.

Covering 200 hectares of both land and water, Docklands is nestled around Victoria Harbour in Melbourne and offers a diverse range of opportunities for the astute investor. Combining contemporary and heritage buildings with modern retail, office and dining, Docklands also offers open spaces, distinctive urban art works and active waterways.

By end of 2009, Docklands will have delivered Melbourne approximately 400,000 m2 nett leasable area (NLA) of new office accommodation. In doing so it has attracted many of Australia's leading corporations to the waterfront. These include ANZ, AXA Asia Pacific, Myer Pty Ltd and National Australia Bank to mention only a few.

By 2020 when all development is expected to be completed, Docklands will have provided the city with approximately 960,000 m2 NLA of additional office space as well as the following:

  • Approximately 178,000 m2 gross floor area (GFA) of retail space
  • Over 8,000 residential apartments
  • Approximately 80,000 m2 GFA of hotel accommodation
  • Approximately 28,000 car spaces
